Acer Indonesia's Commitment to Environmental Sustainability: #SayangBumi Initiative
In line with its dedication to environmental stewardship and the promotion of sustainable lifestyles, Acer Indonesia continued the #SayangBumi sustainability initiative, which includes social media educational campaigns, beach cleanups, educational workshops, and mangrove conservation efforts.
Our beach cleanup series began in December 2022 at Tanjung Pasir Beach, Tangerang, where 65 volunteers successfully collected over 300 kilograms of waste. This initiative continued at Telaga Waja Beach, Bali, in January 2023, where approximately 1.8 tons of organic and inorganic waste were gathered. In February 2023, the cleanup extended to Kerang Beach, Surabaya, yielding 360 kilograms of waste.
Acer’s collaboration with the Seasoldier Community was further strengthened during a cleanup at Tanjung Pasir Beach, Tangerang, where nearly 185 volunteers from the Seasoldier Foundation, local students, and community members came together to collect 404 kilograms of waste, including 45 kilograms of organic waste and 359 kilograms of inorganic waste. Across four beach cleanups, more than 4.7 tonnes of waste were removed from these coastal areas.
Beyond direct environmental action, Acer Indonesia also focused on educating the younger generation through workshops on making ecobricks from used plastic and utilizing digital platforms to promote environmental conservation and sustainable living.
The series of activities culminated in a mangrove planting event at the Tanjung Pasir Conservation Area, Tangerang. This mangrove planting is expected to protect coastal biodiversity, contribute to the prevention of coastal erosion, and enhance the local economy for communities living along the coast.
Through ongoing efforts under the #SayangBumi initiative, Acer Indonesia aims to inspire the younger generation to embrace sustainable values and foster greater environmental awareness, starting with small changes in daily life. These initiatives also reinforce Acer Indonesia’s commitment to embedding sustainability at the core of its business strategy, ensuring a lasting positive impact on both the environment and the communities it serves.
Throughout our collaboration with Acer Indonesia, we have carried out meaningful activities. Acer not only provides environmentally friendly technology, but also demonstrates a global mission followed by real action, as seen in its work with Seasoldier. We hope that in the future, Seasoldier, Acer and hundreds of participants in the #SayangBumi movement can continue to have a positive impact on environmental sustainability.
