Acer Philippines recognizes the value of sharing with the community and adding social good at the heart of its business. Its corporate social responsibility projects aim to pursue sustainable initiatives that not only help uplift the quality of life of employees and their families, but also promote engagement and develop a deep sense of service to the community. Aligned with the global Project Humanity, its CSR efforts are focused on education and conservation of the environment.

To ensure sustainability, Acer Philippines collaborated with the GreenEarth Heritage Foundation, hereinafter referred to as GreenEarth. GreenEarth is a holistic Christian organization whose mission is to conserve the environment, adhere to sound and sustainable agricultural practices, and assist in alleviating poverty through livelihood and community development. One of their important advocacies include supporting the livelihood of the farmers and providing formal education to their children.

Acer Philippines became one of GreenEarth’s donor in 2011 with the donation of the first Bamboo Greenhouse that can house 9,600 moringa seedlings. Acer Philippines also played a big part on GreenEarth’s procurement of essential stainless-steel equipment for the multi-commodity processing facility for its two flagship products -- Certified Organic Moringa Tea and Moringa Raw Leaf Powder, which are now being sold all over the Philippines.

Since the opening of GreenEarth’s Library and Learning Center back in 2011, Acer Philippines donated computers and laptops to help augment the community’s education and exposure to advanced learning, specifically for English and computer literacy.

Among those who attended the computer literacy classes was one student who stood out for being diligent in his learning. Romnick Blanco became the first farmer’s child given a scholarship by International School Manila in the school’s 92-year history. In 2018, Romnick received four full-ride college scholarships in the United States — The King Scholarship at Dartmouth College, Harvard University, the Freeman-Asian Scholarship at Wesleyan University, and New York University. He accepted the full-ride scholarship at Harvard University in Boston and completed his course in History in 2022.

Aside from Romnick, there are nine other college scholars from the GreenEarth community being supported by Acer.

For 12 years, Acer Philippines has consistently provided funding for the planting of thousands of trees on GreenEarth-owned land, sustaining on-going environmental conservation endeavors that support the education of its scholars and beneficiaries through an Annual Tree Planting Activity, participated by all the employees. From a yearly average of 1,000 Moringa trees in 2011, Acer Philippines first reached a milestone on its 15th year anniversary in 2018 with 10,631 trees planted. Its contribution continues to grow with the joining of business partners to participate as well. And in 2023, on its 20th Anniversary, a total of 36,931 trees were donated to the foundation.

In a world awash with constant choices, transformations, and fleeting moments, one option remains firm, the choice to set a better future. Acer Philippines is committed to its mission for the world with the clarion call: Ace the change.

“Acer has been an all-around partner and helps in every aspect of our mission. They've been a committed partner for over a decade. The primary mission is to green the earth, to work on our denuded areas and to rebuild our forests. And over the last almost 12 years, they have not only provided tools of technology, but also a scholarship to one farmer's child, and budgets for tree planting - for thousands of trees already over a decade.”

“Corporate social responsibility is more than just making a one-time donation to organizations who seek for it. We think about the values and advocacies that they pursue, one that will not just bridge or meet the temporary needs of their beneficiaries, but an organization that can provide sustainable livelihood. Our partnership with GreenEarth is more than just a need to go to the mountain and plant trees but more importantly, the need to support education.”

Rebecca Song

HR Director,Acer Philippines

“If you want a child’s mind to grow, you must first plant a seed. And for the seed to grow, you need to provide education. Education is such a big responsibility. With strong partnership and Acer Philippine’s commitment, we are able to help drive access to education and break down barriers to technology. It takes the whole Acer Philippines community, including our business associates, to enable us to do what we can to help. It takes teamwork. We commit to continue planting good seeds and sustain what we have started with education as our anchor to empower children to live a healthy and sustainable future.”

Manuel Wong

“Acer’s commitment in uplifting Philippine education is cemented through our decade-long Acer Academy Program. We aim to help create a better future by bridging the digital divide among teachers and learners with emphasis on sustainability as an imperative. Acer Philippines remains steadfast on this journey for years to come.”
